Hopefully the last of the rain was to be seen this morning at a very wet and gushy course.
Dave proved that a little course knowledge can go a long way as he held onto his lead for the second straight round.
Pat played like there was no hiccup in his game and scored well on the front nine, but gave back a few on the last of the back as his dogs started barking. He played the last hole in his bare feet and managed to par the last hole which is a 566 yard par 5 into the wind.
Brian started out with a bogey but then parred 5 holes in a row. Disaster soon followed after a gallery member and course maintenance man got a little exuberant and he got into the thick wet rough and couldn’t get out of it. He took a triple bogey. He followed it with a scramble par but couldn’t hold on to the score and finished with a double on the front nine. The back nine was not much better than his ending for the front nine. When questioned about it, he simply said, “It was another tale of two 9′s, 41-48. On the back, I didn’t play smart out there especially on #11 and got myself in trouble. But I did manage to par the #2 hole on the course, so I took away some good things.”
Nelson turned in s olid performance but wasn’t able to overcome the small lead that Dave had built up.
